Masoud Shafaghi is the Strategic Planning and Executive Office Manager at the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) Office in Geneva, Switzerland, where he also holds the position of Strategic Planning and Coordination Manager. Additionally, he has been the editor of IFIA MAGAZINE for over six years.
His achievements and accolades are nothing short of extraordinary. Masoud has been bestowed with honorary diplomas from Germany, Kuwait, Switzerland, Croatia, Romania, Russia, and Belgium since 2008. He’s also a winner of several awards and medals at top world competitions and exhibitions across Germany, Belgium, Russia, Malaysia, South Korea, Iran, the Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, and West Asia. Among his notable accomplishments is winning the coveted Chem Glory medal in the world competition of chemical inventions.
Masoud’s passion for innovation doesn’t end there. He’s a prolific writer who has published several articles in various journals worldwide on the topics of innovation, invention, and business. In addition to writing books, he’s always on the lookout for golden opportunities to open up new horizons.
He’s a lifelong learner, constantly updating his skills through workshops and conferences held by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Masoud has participated in many WIPO events, including the Global Challenges Seminar on Urgent Innovation and the Standards Workshop on Blockchain. He’s also completed several WIPO e-tutorials, including Introduction to the Patent Cooperation Treaty and E-Tutorial on Pro Bono Patent Attorney Services. Moreover, he attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Harnessing Intellectual Property for Sustainable Development.
As a sought-after international speaker, Masoud has delivered talks at various world-renowned universities, including the University of Waterloo and McMaster University, and at the Hong Kong International Invention and Design Competition (IIDC 2018) as the IFIA representative. He has also lectured at the TED talk series and is highly skilled in raising awareness among the audience in several areas, such as inventions, metaverse, personal branding, strategic management, entrepreneurship, and sustainable integration of people with disabilities in different cities such as Toronto.
As a professional inventor, Masoud serves on the jury board of various international invention competitions, including MIT’s Solve 2020, International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada- iCAN, the Hong Kong International Invention and Design Competition, and Qatar Challenge and Innovation Forum (CIF 2021). He’s always on the lookout for the next big thing and is committed to inspiring the next generation of inventors.
